Electric Hoist Trolley
Electric trolleys are motor-driven units designed to move heavy loads smoothly along a beam or rail. They are widely used in industrial environments where efficiency, accuracy, and operational safety are critical. By eliminating manual handling, electric trolleys enable controlled and consistent load movement, making them particularly suitable for high-frequency and heavy-duty applications.
Features of electric trolleys
Electric trolleys are supplied with an integrated control cabinet, without a separate control box or push-button pendant. The control system is built directly into the compatible hoist, creating a compact monoblock configuration. This design significantly reduces overall height, ensuring virtually no loss of lifting height when combined with a hoist.
The trolleys are fitted with steel wheels mounted on ball bearings, suitable for both E- and N-profile beams. The adjustable flange width between the guide wheels allows precise alignment to the beam, ensuring smooth and shock-free motor start-up. For added safety, the trolleys are equipped with anti-tip protection.
Installation and operation
Correct installation requires the supporting beam to be perfectly horizontal in the axial direction to guarantee optimal performance. The integrated motor includes a braking system that brings the load to a controlled and gradual stop, enhancing both safety and positioning accuracy.
Electric trolleys provide an efficient and reliable solution for horizontal load movement in industrial settings. Their compact construction, robust design, and integrated safety features make them well suited for environments where productivity and safety are essential. Abrupt start-stop operation, often referred to as “piano playing” or “plucking,” should be avoided, as it negatively affects load stability and generates voltage peaks that lead to excessive heat buildup in the switchgear. This practice involves repeatedly pressing and releasing the start button in quick succession and can be prevented through proper operation and experience.
